UNITED STATES KERRY BLUE TERRIER CHARITABLE FUNDS

IRS GRANTS 501c3 STATUS

The United States Kerry Blue Terrier Charitable Funds is pleased to
announce that it had been classified as a 501c3 non-profit corporation by
the Internal Revenue Service.  Donations made to the Funds will qualify as
tax-exempt donations under the Internal Revenue Service code.  If you made a
donation to USKBTC rescue after September 26, 2002 your donation may be tax
deductible.  If you need a receipt please contact Tom Rogers, Funds
Treasurer. If you are submiting your donation online, you can print your own receipt.

FOUR NEW FUNDS ESTABLISHED FOR CHARITABLE FUNDS

The Board of Directors of the Funds is pleased to announce the
establishment of four funds directed to the betterment of the Kerry Blue
Terrier.  These funds are:

1)    Rescue Fund - this fund supports grants used to
provide Kerry Blue Terrier rescue services

2)    Health and Genetics Fund - this fund makes grants in
support of research in areas of health and genetics of particular importance
to the Kerry Blue Terrier
        
3)    Education Fund - the education fund supports
education of all those interested in the Kerry Blue Terrier including
publications, websites, and seminars
        
4)    General Fund - donations to this fund are used to
support the work of the other funds through internal grants to those funds.
Undesignated gifts will initially be held in this fund.

THE UNITED STATES KERRY BLUE TERRIER CHARITABLE FUNDS
HOLDS INAUGRAL BOARD MEETING

The Charitable Funds first Board of Directors meeting was held on
Friday, June 13, 2003 in Chicago.  The officers of of the Funds were
elected.  Carl C. Ashby was elected Chair, Tom Rogers is Treasurer, and
Gretchen Quinn was elected Secretary.  The first meeting was highlighted by
the formation of 4 funds to start the process of building the assets of the
Funds.  The agenda for the meeting has been posted on www.uskbtc.com as well
as the minutes of the meeting.  One of the key decisions made at this
meeting was that as a non-private Foundation the Board is committed to
assuring all stakeholders in the Funds have complete confidence in the how
the business of the Charitable Funds are conducted.  Our long-term goal is
to use "planned giving" as the model for building the funds to a level
capable of making a real difference in the sustaining of the Kerry Blue
Terrier breed.  It is our view that will only happen through a very open,
well structured, professionally managed process.

Plans are being formulated for our first major fund raising effort
and we urge all fanciers of Kerry Blue Terriers to be giving thought to how
you can participate.

The Board is anxious to share with you the exciting vision we have
for the funds and urge you to contact any of us at any time.  Contact

HANK FRISCONE MEMORIAL FUND ESTABLISHED

The untimely death of Hank Friscone, President of the Ohio Kerry
Blue Terrier Club, has resulted in a Memorial Fund being established in his
name.  Recognition of Hank's many contributions to our breed can be no
better recognized than through this memorial.  

Donations to the Hank Friscone Memorial Fund are to be sent to Tom
Rogers, Treasurer,  317 West Ridge Road, Joliet, IL  60431.  Your donation
will be acknowledged to the family and, unless requested otherwise,
recognized on our website.
