How can you reach over 350,000 people a month? You do not have to have your own talk show or go on tour with a band to reach hundreds of thousands of people a month. The new USKBTC website at www.uskbtc.com is not even a year old, and it has already benefited thousands of people who are interested in the breed.

As you will read in the fall edition of Blueprints, access to personal web pages, the chat line, forum, membership database, contact list, chapter club information, charitable funds updates, sale items , pictures, historical documents and hundreds of articles on the Kerry Blue Terrier are available to all with just a click of your computer mouse.

We have many ideas for the future, and for that we will need your input. Our immediate concern is your support of the site through continued use and the creation of personal webpages. As you read in the “Handbook Update” article, your ads for the new handbook will also entitle you to your own web page and web address. There will be not be any additional cost to you. You will have your own personal web page AND an ad put in the handbook. Please check out the personal web pages that are already on the uskbtc.com site for ideas.

What are the specifications for a personal web page and handbook ad?

Price per Webpage/Handbook Ad: $125
Size:8 1/2 x 11
Number of Graphics: 2 (two pictures or one logo/graphic and one picture)
Picture File: gif or jpeg
Number of Words: 50–75 per page
Favorite Color: List color preferences for your web page.
Extra Pictures: $25 per picture

(Remember the more pictures you put on a page the smaller each picture will be. It might be better to take another page . You will get two larger pictures and 75 to 100 more words.)

(If you do not have a logo, but would like one created for you, please describe your design ideas and a professional will create your own personal logo for your web page and handbook ad.)

If I take a handbook ad, MUST I have the ad information put up on the website in the form of a personal web page?
Do I have a choice?

YES, of course you have a choice. You should realize however, that most people who are looking for a Kerry or information about a Kerry, do not have access to the handbook. Therefore, the creation of a personal web page with the ad information you have assembled for the handbook, is a wonderful way to reach thousands of people all for the same price.

Regardless, you still have a choice. When you submit your ad, please make a special note to include your preference.

YES, I want my ad put in the handbook and used to create my personal web page.
or
NO, I do not want a web page. I only want my ad placed in the handbook.

(Please note that even if you opt out of placing your pictures on a personal web page, the price for the ad page is still the same The only difference will be that the ad information will only be placed in the handbook.)

How do I submit my pictures and text for a web page/handbook ad?

Computer: For those of you who are comfortable with the computer, a separate email address has been set up just for web pages/handbook ads. All you have to do is send off the file and the scanned pictures to ads@uskbtc.com.
Computer email deadline is December 31, 2003. No late entries accepted.

OR

Standard Mail (Snail Mail): If you are unable to use the computer to send in your ad material, you can send the photograph and the text to Bryan Kincaid. He will then scan your pictures for you and prepare the text for submission to the email address ,ads@uskbtc.com. Mail in deadline for this format is December 12, 2003. You must allow Bryan the time to type your text and scan your images in a computer, so he can send it off by the email deadline.

If you are submitting your material via computer email, you can use Paypal on the www.uskbtc.com website to pay for your web page/handbook ad.

If you are mailing in copy and pictures to Bryan, please enclose a check for the correct amount payable to the USKBTC.

There is so much we can do with a website and right now, we are just at the tip of the iceberg. Your involvement is the ingredient that will make the site survive and flourish. Please feel free to contribute articles on any Kerry related subject, take banners and ads, make suggestions, and give the USKBTC website address out to anyone interested in the breed.
