  Nominating Committee Report

The nomination process is clearly defined in the USKBTC Constitution and Bylaws. ALL nominees were selected on the basis of these documents. Jann Lane, because of professional demands, decided not to serve a second term. After considering the remaining eligible board members and USKBTC members expressing an interest in serving (Rich Basler, Stephanie Clark, John Garahan, Connie Myers and Bob Nazak) the nominating committee has selected the following slate and forwarded it to the Corresponding Secretary.

Stephanie Clark
John Garahan
Bill Kearney
Bob Nazak
Carol Wert

The reasoning behind these selections follows. The committee recognizes the need for experienced board members, geographical distribution, and the need for individuals who bring specific talents which address the needs of the USKBTC now and over the next three years. Carl, Charlie, Gigi and Susan are term limited out in 2010. This does not imply Rich and Connie were not worthy of board membership and recommends they be given consideration in the future, should they wish to serve.

Stephanie Clark served three and a half years as treasurer and webmaster of the Sun Country Terrier Club in addition to designing the SCTC website. Prior to moving to Az., Stephanie served as treasurer and membership chair of the Empire KBT club. She designs and manages websites and has a pet supply business she runs from her home. She will be assuming the responsibilities of dues notification and collection from Susan Schneider, who graciously agreed to serve through 09. Stephanie would prove most valuable in the development of the virtual museum website being planned to preserve historical documents and artifacts relating to the breed. Stephanie has degrees in website development and sociology.

John Garahan is the president of the Philadelphia Kerry Blue Terrier Club and has served as hospitality chair for both the PKBTC and the USKBTC Traveling Specialty. John and Gerry Yeager have manned the Kerry Blue Terrier booth at the annual AKC Meet the Breeds event held in NYC for the last two years. John has been active in Kerry’s for the last ten years here in the U.S. He and his cousin had KBT’s on their farm in county Westmeath, Ireland. Professionally, John is vice-president and chief operating officer for a division of Broadridge Financial. He has a B.A. from Pace University and a masters degree from St. John’s University.

Bob Nazak is a past president of the USKBTC with broad experience in many aspects of the fancy including serving as president of the Old Dominion Kennel Club for which he is now the AKC delegate. He has been in Kerry’s since 1982. He would again, bring a life time of management experience obtained as a career naval officer to the USKBTC. He has been the USKBTC membership chair since 2003. Bob is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy.
