The Delaney System is an obedience rating system that awards one point for every
dog defeated while earning a class placement (1st thru 4th). For example, in a
class of ten dogs, first place would earn nine points (since a dog can't defeat
himself), second would earn eight points, third would earn seven points, and fourth
would earn 6 points. Only the top ten dogs in each breed are listed.
Note: Through 1994, points were also awarded for High in Trials (one point for
each dog competing at the trial). Starting in 1995, Front and Finish magazine
started using AKC computer records instead of volunteer statisticians to compile
these figures, and stopped including HIT's.
