Shortly after Mick won Westminster this year, several articles were
published about Kerry Blue Terriers. While we all rejoiced over Mick’s
big win and seeing Kerries touted in print was terrific, some of us cringed
as we read disparaging descriptions of our beloved breed. The
New York Times pronounced Kerries to be “dog aggressive.” Newsweek
quoted some presumed expert saying, “they get aggressive with other dogs.”

On March 16, 1946 Blueprints published a letter to the editor written by Mr. Henry
Coughlin. In 1966, it was published once again. Fifty-seven years from the day
it was written, it is still relevant today and worthy of discussion on the Internet.
