The United States Kerry Blue Terrier Club, Inc. is the parent club of the Kerry Blue Terrier in the United States and a member of the American Kennel Club.  The preservation of the breed in the United States is paramount to its mission which includes:

• To encourage and promote quality in the breeding of pure-bred Kerry Blue Terriers and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection; and to promote ethical breeding practices;
• To encourage the organization of independent local Kerry Blue Terrier Specialty Clubs in those localities where there are sufficient fanciers of the breed to meet the requirements of the American Kennel Club;
• To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by The American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Kerry Blue Terriers shall be judged and to educate current and prospective judges to that standard;
• to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows where Kerry Blue Terriers compete; to conduct sanctioned matches, specialty shows, under the rules of the American Kennel Club, as well as educational symposia.

This website helps achieve the last objective through capturing for current and future generations the rich history of this wonderful breed.  The Kerry Blue Terrier is steeped in tradition both in the United States and its country of origin, Ireland.  To those of us who have devoted our lives to this preservation and improvement of the Kerry Blue Terrier this website serves as a history and chronicling of its progression as both a companion as well as a conformation dog in the United States and other countries.

Through the United States Kerry Blue Terrier Charitable Funds, Inc. and its generous donors this archival site will become a living and evolving history of our breed.
